Calculating Liquid Fertilizer Nutrient Analysis

Blended products can be tricky to account for, but here's how!

Example to work with:

20 gallons of 32%

4 gallons of 12-0-0-26 (ATS)

  1. Calculate the percentage of each product.
    1. 20 gallons 32% / 24 gallons total product = 83.3%

    2. 4 gallons ATS / 24 gallons total product = 16.7%
  2. Calculate the nutrients for each product.
    1. N from 32%:  32 x .833 = 26.7
    2. N from ATS:  12 x .167 = 2
    3. S from ATS:  26 x .167 = 4.3
    4. 28.7-0-0-4.3S
  3. Calculate the density by using the percentage.
    1. Density from 32%: 11.06 x .833 = 9.21
    2. Density from ATS: 11.1 x .167 = 1.85
    3. Density of 28.7-0-0-4.3S = 11.06#/gallon
