How to Place Learning Blocks for the Best Data Analysis

Traditional Learning Blocks are a great way to put a small trial into a prescription in order to help a Grower answer the question, "What if?" Placement is key and here are some tips for getting the most out of your Learning Blocks!

  1. Learning Blocks™ should be placed in an area that is consistent within a given zone.
  2. The surrounding cells that are analyzed buffer the learning block by 115 ft.  In this example, you can see that the surrounding cells include 3.8 acres around the Learning Block™, which equates to 45 cells!

  3. Because of this, your surrounding cells (2 or less blocks) should not include:
    1. Other Learning Blocks
    2. Field or boundary boarders
    3. Waterways
    4. Terraces
    5. Utility poles
    6. Irrigation equipment
    7. Inconsistent areas that would skew the data (low spots, etc.)
