How to Remove 'Drags' in Maps in SMS

If you have ever brought in data and seen 'drags' or 'tails' in your map in SMS like these:

They can easily be removed!!

1. Change your map to a "Base Map".
   
   
   
   
2. Click the "Edit Layer" option.
   
   
   
   
3. Under Action Tools, select the "Filter Select" option.
   
   
   
   
4. Click the "Add" button.
   
   
   
   
5. Select:
   1. Item Type to "Attribute"
   2. Attribute is "Distance (ft)"  (This is the number of feet traveled between GPS points. The faster the speed, higher the distance value.)
   3. Operator is ">"
   4. Value is "30". (This is an arbitrary number. If you chose 10, most of the map may select and be an issue. if you chose 60 it may not capture the tails.  30 may not be the exact number that you'll want to use.)
   5. Click "OK"
   
   
   
6. Click the "Select Now" button.
   
   
   
   
7. Click the "OK" button.
   
   
   
   
8. In the Edit Map screen, click the "Delete Selection" button on the right-hand side.
   
   
   
   
9. Click the "Save" button.
   
   
   
   
10. Now those 'drags' are removed!
