Why is My Variable Rate (VR) Nutrient Rec Showing Zero Values After Running a Nutrient Equation (Rx)?

If you have ever ran a rec and the map shows no values or zero values, here's a quick check to figure out why!

You ran your rec and see that there is no cost/acre:

And when you open the PDF, you see zero values, but you know that you have ran the rec correctly:

  1. On the field that you get the zero values for, click on the “View Data” button on the right-hand side.

  2. An Excel spreadsheet will download.  Once you have opened it, you can see when the layers were created and last uploaded for the given field.  Click on the “Data” tab on the bottom of the worksheet to see available attributes.

  3. You will now see the available attributes!

  4. If the attribute that was used in your equation does not have any values associated with it, it will not be able to execute properly.  For the example above, the "PRem" values are blank, which means that if your equation is using that attribute to calculate the recommendation, it will have no values to use.
  5. Now, you know why your equation is not executing correctly!  Now that you know, you'll need to:
    1. If you have data for that attribute:
      1. Get it to PCS (if they do not have it already).
      2. Contact your advisor support representative to ask why that attribute is not available.
    2. If you do not have data for that attribute, you will need to choose a different equation.
  6. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your advisor support or account manager for assistance.
